Cultivate a healthy balance of body, mind, spirit through acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

This system of treatment is for individuals who wish to explore Chinese and alternative/ complementary medicine, and who desire a more holistic, hands-on approach to treatment options.

I treat a wide variety of physical and emotional imbalances:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders such as low back pain
  • Gastrointestinal disorders such as bloating, gas, constipation
  • Women’s issues such as menstrual difficulties, menopause syndrome, fertility and pregnancy
  • Respiratory disorders such as colds, flu, allergies
  • Stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression
  • Any physical manifestation of psycho/emotional imbalances
Case Study
A female in an abusive relationship experiencing digestive problems, insomnia and chronic cystitis (urinary tract infection). Diagnosis according to Chinese Medicine: Liver Qi stagnation with Heat, Spleen Qi deficiency with dampness, Stomach heat, Heart fire draining into Small Intestine and Urinary Bladder.
I discussed with patient the possibilities for transformation of her current condition and relationship. I strengthened the patient's ability to honestly assess her situation. Used herbs and acupuncture to open channels and orifices, calm shen, soothe Liver Qi, clear Stomach heat and Heart fire, strengthen Spleen Qi, drain heat from Urinary Bladder, regulate Spleen and Stomach. I worked with the emotional aspects of organ energies to strengthen the patient's ability to transition into making more productive and satisfying life choices.
Digestion improved, cystitis relieved, patient able to sleep better. Patient able to focus on her own value in the world and reject any form of abuse. Patient able to "digest" the issues of her life to make better decisions.

I combine multiple modalities to help determine the best approach to treatment and to encourage patients to take an active role in their care.

I offer acupuncture, acupressure, Reiki, energy balancing, tuina and shiatsu massage, essential oils, lifestyle and dietary counseling with an emphasis on promoting wellness and achieving independent self care.

I am available by phone and e-mail to answer questions that may come up between treatments.
